Hello,

I would like to change the width of the first column only (not the column 2 and 3 ). How to do this ?

Correct answer jmlevy

Don't group them. Select them, go to the “Fenêtre” menu > objet et mise en page > choose the Alignment panel. Do as shown below.

I have seen that this feature was requested on adobe in design uservoice in 2017 (5 years ago) : https://indesign.uservoice.com/forums/601021-adobe-indesign-feature-requests/suggestions/31061038-independent-column-widths-in-text-frame

Do you think this feature could be added to InDesign in the future ?

I have created 3 text frame  that are touching together and that I have grouped.

And, at the red arrow I would like to create a gutter with the same width, by example 5 mm. How to add this gutter ?

Hi @pierret18811376:

Sure. I created a new text frame and specified 5 columns. I then added text and assigned two paragraph styles: one to the heading (Head) and one to the rest of the text (Body). As a default in InDesign, all paragraphs fit in a single column.

I then added a column break in front of the first heading, and then I edited the body style to span two columns.

@Barb Binder Hi Barb,

I don't understand how you obtain the design of your screenshot. Could you explain the steps ?

Hi @pierret18811376 :

Threaded frames is likely the best answer, but depending on the desired layout, you may be able to get away with one frame, adding more columns and using the span command.
