When I create a page with (for example) a drop shadow then after exporting it to PDF the text frame turns completely black.
I create my PDF files with InDesign server (used on a Windows server) in the latest version (18). The problem started after updating to the newest version of InDesign. When I install the joboptions again on the server then it seems to work again, but later it is giving the same problem again. The PDF version in my example file is 1.4. Any idea on how to solve this?

Hi @lianne3001 ,
could you share a sample page where this happens?
For that sample please change the text to dummy text and do not share the image.
Thanks,

I downloaded your InDesign file, and opened it in InDesign 18.1 on a Macintosh running Ventura. I exported as PDF/X-4. and I don't see the problem.
Perhaps the problem is caused by an InDesign Server bug?

PDF/X-4 uses PDF version 1.6.
I noted you said you created PDF version 1.4. I switched the PDF version number to Acrobat 5 (version 1.4) and got the same result.

I'm also afraid it is a bug in the server version, I also cannot reproduce it locally with the same settings. Any idea if there is a setting that would overrule the bug?

Did you try to stop and relaunch InDesign Server?

Yep, multiple times.... No success yet. It only seems to work for a few pages when I reinstall the joboptions. But the problems always reoccurs a few days later.
