export pdf from indesign - mouse cursor blinking

Hi everyone,

When I export from Indesign in pdf (PDF/X-1A:2001), I can see the mouse cursor blinking in the exported pdf. It is a scanned page (png) on top of what I applied text and objects, all are in the same layer. No matter where I put my mouse on those before the exportation, it always blink in the same spot (right at the beginning of a text cell). opened in adobe pro or reader, it is the same. can't get rid of it.

Any suggestion to solve my issue? it's rather urgent..... Thanks!

except that I'm not in text editing mode in the pdf. the video is from the pdf, not the indesign. and I'm not in text mode in indesign either.

In Acrobat you can be in editing / selecting mode - black arrow - or "moving around" - hand icon in the toolbar.

First, what are your versions of InDesign and the operating system?

Now, what kind of "blinking" is that? Does the cursor simply disappear for a brief moment, then reappears, and so on - or is it a different kind of blinking?

Does it happen with any tool (selection, type tool, etc.) or any tool?

Do you have this problem with any other document?

What if you export the same document without the scanned PNG page (that is, only with the elements created in InDesign). Will you have the same issue?

Also, you mentioned that the blinking occurs "right at the beginning of a text cell". Are you referring to a cell in a table, or any text frame?

Could you post a screen recording that demonstrates the blinking?

p.s. typed before seeing the Harshika's reply.

I'm on PC, windows 10,  using indesign CS6 and acrobat 9 pro but it is the same in acrobat reader. I never experienced that before nor in illustrator. it seems that's the only document doing that. I made a very focused video because I don't want to put my address online but I'm sure you'll see what it does. it's a regular txt frame, it's not in a cell in a table. sorry, I'm not allways using the correct word, english is not my first language. It does the same even when I remove the png under.

Hi there,

Thank you for reaching out and reporting the mouse cursor blinking issue. A few more details would be super helpful.

  • Would you mind telling us if that happens with all files or with a specific file?
  • Please share the version of InDesign and Acrobat you're using.
  • Please also share the details of your operating system.
  • Is it possible for you to record a video of the issue for better understanding?
  • Have you experienced the same while using exporting from other Adobe apps like Illustrator?

We will try our best to investigate the issue.

Thanks,

Harshika

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
