Question

fix placing pdf error: file does not exist, not accessible or in-use by another user...

I‘vê been trying to place a PDF into an InDesign CS5 filé for hours now. All PDFs created until yesterday are placeable. PDFs created today are not. In design says file doesn’t exist, had no permission or is already open. when I try to open the PDF and save-as over a PDF that is placeable Acrobat tells me the file is read-only. Maybe this is an Acrobat issue. But can anyone please help me. I’m desperate. Thanks,

    Also,

I have already re-set InDesign Preferences to default. I have restored my windows to the previous version, thinking the last windows updated might have been the culprit. I have saved PDF files in all possible ways. I have opened them in photoshop and saved them as jpgs. JPGS created today also won't place. NOTHING available as a solution on online forums so far has worked.

When placing the PDFs make sure to show options and choose appropriate settings. These are sticky and if the PDF you’re placing doesn’t have the features InDesign is looking for you could get an error.

show import options is checked. but I don't have the opportunity to see them as prompt comes up before anything can be done.
