Grid keeps showing up in new documents

New Here ,
Jan 03, 2020 Jan 03, 2020

I open a new doc. and even after resetting the workspace to essentials the grid keeps automtically showing up. I checked preferences and don't think there is anything different in grids and guidelines. How do I get it back to normal? I am on a Mac and might have to go into the library. I have no idea how to reset it and I have tried everything I know. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Hi Karen:

Grid display is not tied to a workspace, so resetting a workspace will not have an impact.

If grids appear automatically in each new document, that means you have inadvertently changed your system defaults. To fix, close all open files. From the welcome screen, uncheck the problem grid (baseline or document) in View > Grids & Guides. Then create a new file. The grids should now be disabled for all future documents.
