Hex color keeps changing

I have a color picked in a different app which is Hex code #B5CE88, however in Indesign it keeps changing to a different Hex code; #B6CE89. Since it's not much of a difference, I used this in my design for a rectangle in the design. However, when I want to use that same Hex code in text it changes to a third color/ hex code, being #b3cc88. Eventually I want my design to be printed so I checked the CMYK % as well, #b3cc88 is 41, 0, 58, 0 (CMYK) and #B6CE89 is 40, 0, 58, 0 (CMYK). When I fill in 40, 0, 58, 0 at CMYK in the color picker it changes to another color with a new hex color (b4cd89)

I have tried converting the Hex code #B5CE88 to CMYK online, but it just changes to a completely diffent color.

I am really lost. I hope someone can help me with my problem. Thanks in advance!

Hi @Femke98A5 , InDesign lets you mix objects with different color modes in the same document and the color appearance of RGB and CMYK colors depends on your document’s assigned RGB and CMYK profiles.

HEX is an RGB notation, so if you want to use exact HEX values make sure the color or swatch you are creating is an RGB color. If you are using the Color Picker to create a Color or Swatch, the color mode of the color you are choosing depends on where your cursor is in the Color Picker dialog. Wh

Your hex code is an RGB colour (two hex characters per base colour). If the colours are defined in InDesign, they should not change, however. Share a test InDesign file with us.

When picking HEX values make sure your cursor is in one of the R, G, or B value fields, and the add swatch button reads Add RGB Swatch and not Add CMYK Swatch:
