How to add Comments in InDesign and export as PDFs with Comments?

If I add a comment in MS Word, while I export as PDF, it allows me to export comments and shows them as comments in the PDF. But there is no such feature in InDesign. Any reason when this will be available as a feature?

Hi @JayShree30719887iuml:

As you said, there’s no command in InDesign to convert notes to comments. But there is in InCopy. See https://creativepro.com/tip-week-converting-indesign-notes-pdf-comments/.

And you can log a feature request here (or vote for it if it has already been requested): https://indesign.uservoice.com/

Hi,

You can add notes. See the Type menu Notes. InDesign doesn't export these to PDF. There are some commercial PlugIns that do.

Thanks for your responses and suggestions. I think we found a way to place the comments directly into PDF although that was not as simple as I thought.

We couldn't use notes because sometimes, there are too many of them that overlaps or hides the other notes in the PDF view. But I am hoping someday, Adobe InDesign team adds the comments feature in InDesign that can get exported as Comments when exported as PDFs. When they can import, why not export?
