How to create a date selection in InDesign

I'm trying to create a "date selection" in InDesign. i.e. date of birth, request date. So far it seems like there isn't an option.

My initial test was through using the interactive buttons to create a date selection but that is not an option.

Any suggestions?

Unfortunately, I don't use Bluebeam so I can't address that part of the question. I recommend asking them directly.

I can tell you that a.) you can't designate a text field as date field in InDesign, but b.) you can do that in Adobe Acrobat. And yes, you would need to have access to Acrobat (not Reader) to do so.

So by "date selection" do you mean you are creating a text field in a form that allows someone to enter a date after exporting the InDesign file to PDF?

You can create a text field in InDesign, but you will have to designate it as a date field in Adobe Acrobat.

I should have specified that. Thanks for the response!

Once the form has been exported to PDF, it needs to be a "date field" in the PDF. We don't typically use Adobe Acrobat at our office but usually Bluebeam. I'm not able to use the full capabilities of Acrobat as we don't have a subscription.

At current my work around has been to just have a text field in the form and once exported to PDF, the person completing the form just has to type the date.

If the only option is what you are suggesting, I'm assuming I would be best to subscribe to Acrobat so as to designate the text field to a "date"?

Thanks again!
