How to get text on a path upside down?

Hello everyone!

I'm an indesign newbie, so I really hope I don't bore you all with my silly questions - but...

I have created a circle with text that follows the path all the way around. Only thing is, the word at the bottom of the circle needs to be the 'right' way up, and not follow the rest of the text by facing inwards. This way it will be easier to read at a glance.

Is there a way I can flip just a portion of the text, so it still has the slight curve of the circle but is the other way to the rest of the text?

    You need to do two paths on top of each other and thread the text between them. You should see three handles for the text. The ones onthe end have in and out ports like a regular text frame and indicate the begining and end of where the text will be positioned. There's a third on inthe center that can be harder to spot. It looks like an inverted T and you can grab and drag it to the other side of the path to reverse the direction.

    I think all text is supposed to point the same way, for a single path ...

    But it shouldn't be a problem. Copy the entire thing, delete half of the text; do the same on the copy (delete the other half, of course), and in the Text Path Options click "Flip".

    (Ed.) Okay, Peter got it right: use the In and Out ports to thread the text strings into one.

      You'll need to use circles on top of each other.

      You might find putting them on two different layers will make it easier to work with.

      Or create one circle and cut the path in the middle. That'll give you two perfect arcs...
