How to merge data through pages in one document

Hello,

I am working on a planner and I need all days of the year to be on separate pages. For this, I have prepared Excel files containing information for each month. I want to use a master page in InDesign to merge this data onto the pages, and I want the data to continue on the following pages where I apply the same master page. However, InDesign opens a new file each time I do this, and I don't want that. How can I achieve this?

InDesign's native Data Merge isn't quite "active" in that way. For a 30-day month, with 1 page per day, you'd have to set up your day-instance layout with merge fields to occupy all of page 1 in a single-page document. Then Data Merge will populate the fields on that page with record 1 from your data sheet, and spawn 29 more pages for the rest of the days. That's pretty much it. The merged document is then just an ordinary static piece. You can use a Parent page in some rudimentary ways, but it isn't necessary.

It's not entirely clear what you need here - can you show some screenshots or share some files?
