ID 2026: Not able to pick fonts in menu with starting letter

Here's a small bug or I have done something wrong so far :-D:

In Indesign’s menubar-font menu you cannot jump to a font you want to use by enterin the first letter or part of the name. It just does not work. Preview is off, show last fonts is set to 0. Works in 2025, not in 2026.

It works in the Command-T Font-Menu itself, but not in the menubar-fontmenu.

Otherwise, 26 is a better experience so far than 25 was. Maybe this can be fixed in a .-update.

Thank you folks.

Are you by any chance using Mac OS Tahoe? If so then please know that Tahoe has not as yet been officially supported by Adobe for Creative Cloud apps. Many performance issues have been reported from InDesign users on Tahoe. It sounds possible that your issue could be related to that. Hopefully, there will be bug fixes and patches available soon from both Adobe and Apple. In the meantime you can at least try the updating advice that both Bob and Anubhav have suggested.

I haven't tried it but InDesign 21.0.1 is now available.

Hello @hds85884545,

Thanks for reaching out. Would you mind updating to the latest release for InDesign (https://adobe.ly/486KJWj) as Bob suggested and letting us know if it helps?

If the problem persists, please confirm the exact version of the OS installed and share a brief screen recording of the issue, so we can investigate it with the team.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Gaven't seen the Update in CC, but «Search for» resulted in a couple of Updates.  Many thanks for the hint.
Installed 21.0.1 and it does not fix the problem (although I just noticed that 25 does the same thing). I remember that typing the name of a font into the menu filtered the menu and gave you all the Options, starting, e.g. with «Sabon». Now the menu closes and entering text only leads to what you enter, not other variants of the font (e.g. you enter NDRSans and also get a view of NDRSansCond, NDRSansBlack and anything that starts with what you entered into the field).

System is MacOS 15.6.1 (Sequoia) running on a Studio Ultra M1.
