Illustrator gradients to InDesign

Is the copy-and-paste of Illustrator gradients into an InDesign file broken again? I remember it broke a few versions back but was fixed. It doesn't want to work for me again.

Hi David,

what kind of gradient does not work?

CMYK? RGB? 

Linear? Radial?

 

Freeform did never work.

RGB will not work.

 

CMYK should work.

FWIW: You certainly mean "my AI file was in RGB mode"…

It was an I/O error (Incompetent Operator). I didn't notice my ID AI file was in RGB mode. Thanks.

Using ID 17.1 and AI 26.0.3 on a Macintosh (macOS Monterey), I have no problems:
