Hello there, my graphic design teacher is curious if there is a solve to this problem. We all know the long way of importing a multi-page PDF file into InDesign using scripts.... But is there a simplier/shorter way to go about it? Especially including the newer updates to the program?

Correct answer ppppppppgonzaga

Hi @ppppppppgonzaga ,

just downloaded version 2.6.4 ( the zip file ) from GitHub, installed it and ran it successfully with my German InDesign 2025 version 20.5. on a 916 pages PDF. No error message after start-up the script.

Hm… When on Windows make sure that you first unpackage the zip file and do not run the script from within the packaged zip file, but from the Scripts panel User folder using the unpackaged MultiPageImporter.jsx file.

What's your exact version of InDesign 2025? What's the version of your operating system?

Kind regards,

Thank you so much for the quick answer!

The parenthesis nailed it — ( the zip file ) — I'm not really fluent in git hub, so I ended up downloading the raw file. It seems this was my mistake. I'm using mac and indesign is 20.5. After getting the zip file it worked flawlessly 🙂

Hi @Ocean5C0A ,

I can only recommend the MultiPageImporter script one can download here:

https://github.com/mike-edel/ID-MultiPageImporter/releases

Originally written by Scott Zanelli and now curated by Mike Edel.

Also possible: place multi-page InDesign documents:

Otherwise:

Nothing changed the last 10 or 15 years when it comes to placing PDF pages.
