Hi @Rodlks,
Could you please share a screen recording of the entire workflow leading up to the freeze? This will help us identify any specific actions that might be triggering the issue. If possible, start the recording from the moment you launch InDesign until the freeze occurs.
Additionally, if you get the chance before the freeze occurs, could you try switching the workspace type? You can do this by going to Window > Workspace and selecting a different workspace (e.g., "Essentials" or "Typography"). Let me know if that makes any difference.
Thank you! I look forward to your response!
Thanks,
Abhishek Rao

The OP is in the Touch screen workspace. Correct advice would have explained that and indeed would advice to get out of that.

I had the same problem this morning, about four hours ago. Then, when I tried opening it to record for you about 45 minutes ago it opened correctly. Previously the screen appeared correct for 1-2 seconds and then changed to the screen I clipped. When the screen appreared correctly I tried to click on the menu but got no response, it just went on to the frozen screen. A half-hour ago I set Snip to record, clicked on Start, the clicked on Creative Cloud, then clicked on "Open" to open beta 20.1 x64 (Mainline CI #040a3c3), I closed the color management error window, and Indesign opened normally. I have loaded a 13MB file and edited with no problem, closed the program and reopened again with no problem. Having InDesign working on this Surface Laptop 7 will allow me to keep this laptop. Thank you for your work porting InDesign to ARM.

Hi @Rodlks,
Thanks for the update! I'm glad to hear that InDesign is working for you now. It sounds like the issue may have been intermittent. If you encounter any further problems or if the freezing happens again, please share the screen recording when you can.
Your feedback about running InDesign on ARM devices is valuable, and I appreciate your patience during this process. If you need any more assistance or have questions, feel free to reach out!
Best,

Your version of the operating system? Also, what exactly do you mean by "it will not open"? Does it, for example, mean that nothing happens when you double-click the app icon?

Hi @mcqueen18,
Thank you for sharing more details! Since the app isn’t opening at all, here are a couple of troubleshooting steps to help resolve the issue:
1. Create a New Admin User Account:
Sometimes issues with system settings or permissions can prevent apps from opening. Could you try creating a new admin user account and attempt to open InDesign Beta from there? Here’s a guide on how to do that: [Create a new user account in Windows](https://adobe.ly/3UNToH4).
2. Try Opening in Safe Mode:
Another troubleshooting step is to start your PC in Safe Mode and see if InDesign opens. Safe Mode can help by running only essential processes, which may allow InDesign to launch. You can follow the steps here: [Start your PC in Safe Mode in Windows](https://adobe.ly/3AGQc9x).
Let me know how it goes! If the issue persists, please share any additional details or screenshots, and I’d be happy to guide you further.
Thanks,
Abhishek Rao

I created a new admin user account, but it did not work. I didn't try safemode, as how is that going to work moving foward.
Is there any update on when the native Indesign will work on Snapdragon. Or is anyone else having problems opening Indesign Beta 20.1?

Hi @mcqueen18,
Thank you for the update, and I understand your concern about using Safe Mode as a long-term solution. Since creating a new admin user account didn’t resolve the issue, it’s possible that the issue may be specific to the compatibility of InDesign Beta with Snapdragon PCs.
To address your query:
1. The development of native support for Snapdragon processors is actively in progress, but we don’t have an official release timeline yet. I recommend keeping your Creative Cloud desktop app updated, as any announcements or updates about compatibility will appear there.
In the meantime, could you confirm if any other Adobe apps (Beta or otherwise) are working fine on your Snapdragon PC? If so, it could help narrow down the issue.
Let me know if you’d like me to share further steps to troubleshoot or escalate this matter. Your feedback is greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Abhishek Rao
