Indesign CC June 2015 update is seriously slow - HELP!

Updated Indesign last week, and it's really really slow.

Lots of lagging - very sluggish in moving things around, menus slow to respond etc. Very frustrating.

Colleague has the same issue both at work and on personal Mac.

Using Mac fully spec'd up to meet requirements.

Help!

FWIW, this issue still persists. Unfortunately I don't have a solution but figured it might be worth adding to the list in case Adobe notices.

Meantime, downgrading to CC2014 is allowing me to keep working.

On a recent MBP with plenty of power.

I add my voice to this topic !

With an i7-3.4Gh, 32Go RAM PC, on W10, and working only with SSDs ... InDesign CC2015 is sluggish, and freezes everytime i try to move an object.
I tried to trash preferences, no change ... I have no problems with libraries ...
... So i'm reverting back to CC2014, but i dont get why Adobe dont do anything about this.

Any updates guys?

I've trashed my prefs and it provides a little bit of relief but it's still running like stop motion. For a 2012 MBP 2.3GHz i7, 8Gb, SSD this is a pretty poor effort.

Sorry not to be more help, but I didn't have the time to waste troubleshooting CC 2015 upgrade problems. I've reverted to previous version and gone back to work.

Same here. Trashing preferences made no difference. Productivity was severely impacted, so I gave up, reinstalled, and went back to using InDesign CC 2014. Thanks to everyone who provided instructions for CC 2014 reinstall!

A few days later I am pleased to report that InDesign CC 2015 is back up and running well on my 2010 iMac, OS X 10.10.3 after the following adjustments:

Updated Creative Cloud app to 2.1.3.121

InDesign CC 2015 Preferences:

Interface, Options: Live Screen Drawing: Changed from Immediate to Delayed

Display Performance, Default View + Adjust View Settings: Changed from High-Quality to Typical

File Handling, Saving InDesign files: Deselected Always Save Preview Images with Documents

Note: Have had no problems with Illustrator and Photoshop CC 2015, which leads me to believe that it was solely a Preferences issue. I found the following InDesign speed check reference helpful:

I downloaded this PDF and found it extremely helpful!

The main thing that worked for me was deleting the cache, now InDesign is working MUCH faster!

Thank you jennbenn

Thank's for the feedback dakotaspurs. I'll give the solutions in the PDF a try, but I can tell you the chances of it being my computer are pretty slim. For one, it's new and well up to speed. But if InDesign worked fine on a Friday, but after an update on Saturday it immediately starts acting like what users are reporting, it means a wonky update.

Anything is worth a try. By the way, I have the latest 5k iMac running with 32 GB RAM. You can't get a higher spec iMac than the one I am using, and clearing the cache made a huge difference. I'm not saying it will be the same for you, but everything is worth a try.

I also found the suggestions in this document helpful. Thanks jennbenn

I solved my InDesign (2015.4) speed issues by unchecking Dynamic Spelling in the Spelling preferences.

A DRAMATIC speed increase for me!

Same here, just upgraded my machine, 5k iMac, 4ghz i7, 16gb RAM. Fresh install, and Indesign CC 2015 slows to glacial speed if you go near the file menu. I've ditched it and gone back to 2014 edition. Pretty poor

As far as I know, you can't, unless you unticked the box that said "remove old versions" when you did updates - which i didn't.

see this article:

Unless anyone knows different?

I had similar difficulty. It's a ridiculous chew-on, but keep clicking on the various previous-version links in the creative cloud menu. Can't remember exactly how I got indesign 2014 to show up, but show up it did. Eventually. Good luck.

oooh, I didn't read it properly!

Indesign 2014 installing right now

This part is important:

Once launched, scroll down to the “Find Additional Apps” navigation and click on the “All Apps” dropdown to find the selection labeled “Previous Versions.” Note – this is different from the “Previous Version” tab found directly above the “Find Additional Apps” tab.
