I have found multiple threads addressing the question of whether links between InDesign files and other files saved on a drive will still work after migrating that drive from a local server to OneDrive (Sharepoint). The answer according to everything I've read and discussed with Adobe Support has been a hard "No".
However, we recently copied a marketing drive from a local server to OneDrive and after multiple tests we've found that links contained in InDesign files located on OneDrive still worked. We also checked bu copying the filepath of multiple links and found they had automatically updated per the following example...
old file path - O:\Marketing\Library\Filename.jpg
new file path - C:\Users\username\Marketing\Library\Filename.jpg
We conducted additional tests by making changes to files that are linked to InDesign files, then opening the InDesign file to verify whether the changes appeared after updating the related link. Each test we've conducted so far has confirmed that when one user makes changes to a linked file those changes can be viewed by other users who open the related InDesign file when they update the link.
Can anyone confirm whether they've had the same experience...or not? We'd like to know whether it's safe to trust our findings and it's difficult when they're so inconsistent with everything we've been told on the matter.

It depends on how they were moved. It sounds like you did it correctly by keeping the links in a very organized folder structure.

Thanks for responding, Bob. Have you come across any other instances of groups using OneDrive to replace a server for InDesign files...and if so, do you know whether they've run into issues that perhaps we haven't uncovered yet?

If the links are in a subfolder of the folder containing the InDesign file, that should be all that's needed. But if things are scattered all over the place, that's going to cause issues even without moving things.
Again, sounds like you should be fine.
