Hello
I am using indesign on my 14inch macbook pro apple m1 monterey. Each time I move an object the artboard & background workspace flashes. I have checked and both my indesign & macbook softwares are up to date.
I have noticed it seems to happen when I drag the indesign window from my main macbook screen to my seperate monitor. That seems to activate the glitch and then it flashes each time I move an object on both my macbook & monitor screen.
Hoping theres a way to fix this thanks

Try unticking GPU Performance under the GPU Performance tab in InDesign preferences.
Problem is fixed in Sonoma 14.3 released January 22.

It appears to be a bug introduced in InDesign 20.0.1 (which, I guess, was updated automatically for you). Although reverting to 20.0 doesn't solve the problem.
Turning on GPU Performance solves the issue, but it's not available to you.
The only known solution (to me, at least) for now is to revert to InDesign 2024 (19.x).

Yes, after chatting with support, the only current solution is to revert back to using 19.5.1, and converting any of the new pages with the convert tool at startup

Same here - the problem appeared for me earlier today. I never had the issue before, though my coworkers did. Now all of a sudden after lunch, my machine has the issue, so I checked for software update and went up to Sequoia, assuming based on previous replies here that it was a compatibility issue between the new indesign 2025 and Sonoma.

Really could use a solution for this, the flashing on mine makes it impossible to be able to lay things out effectively.

This bug just started today at the end of working all day in InDesign. It looked like the app updated 8 days ago.
I'm Currently using InDesign v20.0.1 on a Apple M2, 8 GB, Ventura 13.5.2
I can not use the GPU check box fix as that is a grayed out setting. Help. I use ID all day at work and this bug makes my job at work impossible.

Same here - came online to see whether others are having the same issue. GPU is unticked, and disabling rulers hasn't helped this time. Pretty frustrating!

Did you try to turn GPU on? Because in some cases it solves the problem.

It works! I turned GPT ON and it seems to have fixed it. Thanks so much - so weird to do the opposite to what is recommended, to make it work...

Mine also started having the issue randomly in the middle of the day - so annoying.
I just got done with chatting with Adobe support - the only solution for now is to revert back to using Indesign 19.5.1, as the issue is occuring with the new update in 20. According to the support representative, there's currently no timeline on when this issue with be resolved.

Not sure if you saw my comment above, but I've turned my GPU on and it works like normal. Not sure if it'd solve your problem, but give it a go. Hopefully they'll sort out the bug asap though!
