Hey folks, i have an indesign layout. Right now i take a screenshot of the ppt slides and place that as an image on to my layout.

Is there a way to place the ppt like i do a .pdf and specify which slide i want to display so later when people make changes to the ppt, i can just update the links and display the updated slide?

thanks

jonathan

Correct answer BobLevine
Create a PDF of the PPTX file. Place that and relink the PDF.

Hi Jonathan,

are you on Mac or PC?

What version of PowerPoint?

FWIW: With my very old version of PowerPoint 2011 on Windows 10 I'm not able to write high-quality PDFs.

@BobLevine But if someone makes a change to the PowerPoint file, then they have to save the change and re-export  to PDF each time (save as the same file name) in order for the InDesign link to update correctly, right?

yes, that is what i been doing. i am looking to streamline the process by having the ppt file itself linked.
