I'm layout a cookbook in Indesign....and would like to create a list with page numbers of the recipe contributor (person who wrote the recipe).  What is the best way of going about doing this.  Thanks in advance for anyone answering this question!

Looks like you turned off allow pages to shuffle and allow spreads to shuffle. Re-enable them from the pages panel.

Page Panel...isn't flowing as normal.  see screenshot.  I don't have any errors in preflight.  Is there a way of moving the pages flowing out to the right ....under the others....any ideas....Any help will be most greatly appreciated.

You want to create a type of table of contents. Read about it here:

Create a table of contents in Adobe InDesign

You can make a table of any kinds—table of contents, table of illustrations, in your case a table of contributors.

The key thing is that you must have the name of the contributor formatted in a particular paragraph style. That is how InDesign know to include it in the table of contributors. (If necessary, it could even be "hidden text" on the page where you want the page referenced.)

Feel free to ask more questions as you try this method out.

Steve,

Not really sure it's the more interesting way [for different reasons about the result of the use of the TOC feature)!

This seems to be more cool! …

This script is called "Grep-Index"!

Obi-wan,

About 98% of the users that I teach don't know GREP. For those who do, you method is cool.

The Table of Contents feature is built-in and easier to use for most people.
