Latest InDesign updates make the program screen too big for my laptop screen

The latest update has caused the InDesign screen to expand below my laptop screen. I adjust it so I can see the bottom of my palettes, and then if I use preview mode, it converts back to the full screen, which is too large. I have to adjust the screen every 10 minutes.

Start by telling us: Please tell us what operating system (exactly) you're running. Please tell us (exactly) what InDesign version you're using.

I have exactly the same setup on my 2021 M1 MacBook Pro, 14" laptop and have no such problems.

There was no screeen sizing issues when I updated to InDesign 20.1.

You might try restoring your InDesign preferences. You can do this from Preferences > General down at the bottom of the screen. See if that makes a difference.

It looks like that works as long as I don't use any workspace with the customized control panel at the top. I need this...it is the only place I can find the span columns tool that is readily available that I know of.

Actually, that's not true. As soon as I use that top bar for something and then switch to a space without it, I still have the same problem.

The Span Columns command is also found in the Control panel menu

Sorry...that's the menu that pushes everything off the bottom of the screen
