Multiple pages leaflet creation

Community Beginner ,

Hi,

I'm learning InDesign to know how to publish a leaflet in A5 format with multiple pages. I expect InDesign to tell me how to setup my pages so that the print of the file will allow me to create the leaflet with three staples in the middle, but I can only find tutos dealing with A4 sheets, which is not helpful to me. Where could I find help to do what I wish, please? Thanks.

When you setup a new document, choose the A5 paper size along with "Facing Pages" which will give you a left and right page. You don't need to see the 3 staples.

If you have already started an A5 document, go to File > Document Setup and turn on Facing Pages there.

You might also need to edit your Parent page to show 2 pages (which means left and right) instead of 1. This is found in Parent Options for "some parent page name" within the Pages panel.

When you build the content for your leaflet, you work on pages in readers order. Later, when the file gets printed, it is up to the printer to re-order them in printers spread order so that the sheets can be collated and gathered and stapled.

@Mike Witherell Thank you very much, you pointed sharp what I needed to know !

@Robert at ID-Tasker 8, which is 2 A4 sheets recto-verso, my point was to know how to tell the printer to provide pre-assembled sheets. Mike said so.
Thank you to you both.

@LumiereBro

How many A5 pages your leaflet will have?

If more than 2 - then you'll have to tell us how/where it will be printed and how it should be folded.

Then, you've two options to set-up your document:

1) have each page as a separate page - and have them arranged side-by-side, front and back,

2) make one page with the width equal to number of pages * width of a single page - minus a few millimeters for folding if it's a Tri-fold, etc. - and use guides to mark folds.
