Just curious how many of you overlap your images or text within Adobe InDesign columns. Can you recommend any good tutorials on the principles behind using columns within Adobe InDesign?

In case you happen to be new to InDesign, there are column guides which are a property of the page and are only guide lines and not real text columns. Layout>Margins and Columns:

And text frame columns, which are real text columns and are a property of a text frame:

It's a very common way to work with texts and images. What do you want to clear especially?

Creating document columns? Creating and using multi-column text frames? Aligning text across columns? Text wrap of objects?

It's quite difficult to say anything special without a particular question.

Good questions.

  • Text wrap of objects
  • Can I align across multiple columns at one time?
  • Creating and using a multi-column text frame
