Question

Script Programmer for InDesign

I'd like to find a programmer that can create a custom InDesign script that will update content from a master excel document to multiple InDesign layouts with tables. The updates are currently being made by hand. A process that I would like to streamline. Does anyone have a recommendation?

Thanks -- David

Hi David,

I’ve already done this sort of job and wrote a function that gets data directly from Excel.
Do you want to update plain or rich text content?
Is there any relation between the cells in Excel and InDesign? In other words, how would the script know from which spreadsheet, cell to take the value, and where to put it?
Ideally, for the script, you should label cells manually in the InDesign template (only once), like so:

Hi,

I think this brief information alone cannot predict how many days it will take to script.
And since it is not possible to negotiate with each schedule, it seems difficult to run for candidacy.
Fill the InDesign table format with Excel data, what kind of manual work is happening after that, whether there are merged cells, etc.
All you need to order a script or program is requirements, budget, and delivery time.

Regards.
