Small caps not working in running header

Hi y'all!

I am experiencing a strange "bug."

I want the right running header (based on the chapter title paragraph style) to be in small caps, but it only works for the first six letters, and the rest are normal!

I tried setting the text variable in the master page as small caps, but nothing changed.

Here is a screenshot.

Any ideas for a fix or workaround?

Thank you!

I fixed this problem in my layout by changing the page header (in the master page) from World-Ready Paragraph Composer to regular Paragraph Composer.

My file is using both English and Hebrew alphabets. (Previously I installed InDesign in Arabic to access some diacritical options, and now the installation seems to revert to Arabic even though it should be English language... but I recall seeing this problem with small caps in headers before.)

Hi Jake,

Sorry for the delay in following up on your suggestion.

Yes, indeed, your suggestion works!

Amazing how simple it can be to solve a big problem!

Thank you!

In working with your document, the issue seems to be tied to the font you are using.

When I changed the font, some worked properly, and others showed the same problem you are seeing.

Based on my small sampling: True Type fonts that I tried worked; Open Type and Adobe Cloud fonts that I tried didn't.

Edit: more testing - some further cloud fonts I tried worked correctly.

That is fascinating!

I  am using Arno Pro from Adobe on Adobe InDesign, and this should not be happening...

Do you have any advice on what to do, besides changing to all caps?

Can you use a different font for the headers, or is this set in stone, stylistically?

It seems like a bug report is in order, maybe? But maybe not - since the issue seems to be with the fonts, and not with InDesign.

Can you supply a link to the file itself? (a truncated one with parent pages and a few (4 to 😎 docuement pages should be enough.)

Sorry for the delay in responding - I was in a meeting.

I've made a small file with a few pages, deleting the rest.

Thank you for your assistance.
