Text Not Fully Updating and Showing '+' Sign in Paragraph Style

I'm getting extremely frustrated with my paragraph styles lately.

It has always worked extremely smoothly for me.

But now when I click on the style, it doesn't change the text to the full style, for example the border comes up, but not the font - and it changes in the panel to that same name but with a "+" sign.

Verry strange!!??

Are you using Character Styles as well? When you remove overrides for a Paragraph Style any CHaracter Style applied will remain.

Click on the style by holding the option key.

Yes, but can you hover your mouse over the name of the Style? You should see a tool tip with info what is the difference.

And what is in the CharStyles panel?

Can you put cursor in the text, hover over the style with the "+" and post screenshot of what it says?
