Unable to adjust document layout due to an error

Hi there

I am trying to resize quite a large document using the 'adjust layout' tool, and everytime I try to implement the change I get an error which says, "Unable to adjust document layout due to an error".

From what I have read in the forum, some people have this issue due to locked layers, however I don't have any locked layers.

Any ideas as to why I can't adjust the layout?

I got the same issue when I tried to convert 1920x1080 to print ready(A4). I resolved this issue by using the 'Create Alternate Layout...' option in the Pages panel menu. I hope it helps.

Did you change the page size somewher with the page tool ?

Are all elements aligned with the page border?

Do you use Object Styles with fixed size and position?

Did you check if you have not only locked layers but also locked groups and objects?

Hi Willi

No I didnt change the page size with the page tool.

Not sure what you mean by "are elements aligned with the page border"?

I haven't used any object styles.

I looked through all pages and layers and can't find any locked elements.

Appreciate your help.

Hi @DiNO Visuals,

Sorry to hear you're experiencing issues while adjusting documents in InDesign. Would you mind telling us the version of InDesign installed on your machine and the details of your operating system?

One of the fixes that worked for our customer is going to your layers, and in more options of the layers panel menu, just select unlock all.

Does that happen with all files or with a specific file?

We will try our best to investigate and help you.

Thanks,

Harshika
