Update? Need to merge images with a URL from Google Drive rather than local path

Last time I see this noted in the community was 2018. I can't find a viable script for my purposes. Why is this still a thing? Why can't Indesign pull the image from the static image URL?

Take a look at In5 from Ajar Productions. It might be able to do what you want.

why not do an web overlay?

why can't you just save the image and package files?

why do you need the image to live in the web?

I need a workflow. My team has posted images through a google form, attaching images through the form, and now I need to pull the corresponding data from those forms into an Indesign template. I have about 50 images per csv file (google form), and about 15 of spreadsheets (google forms) to merge into various InDesign templates. This is ongoing so I need a solution.

I need a workflow.

Adobe provides two ways to collaborate remotely. You can save the assets and templates into a folder in your Creative Cloud Files folder, which by default is created at the top level of your user folder when CC is installed. This approach is similar to Dropbox where any files and folders created inside of your Creative Cloud Files folder can be shared and sync’d with other CC users.

CC Libraries can also be shared and sync’d with other CC users. I prefer the Creative Cloud Files folder option because it’s easier to manage the local files and sync’ing.

Thank you Rob. I'm not sure if I understand you correctly though. This would be if I I didn't use Google forms, correct?
