White box appears around pages in new Indesign document?

I've never had this problem before, but all of a sudden when I went to open a new Indesign document after working on an existing one, a whit box appears surrounding the page of the new document I've opened instead of the dark grey that's usually there. Can any one tell me how to make it not this way, it's driving me nuts!
