how to create a editable textbox on a poster

I am completely new to Adobe and really need help with producing an editable text box on a marketing poster - can someone please help or point me to the link that provides a simple guide on this?

To explain the marketing poster is an event and I would like to create a PDF poster that enables me to change the date in the future for others that dont have access to Adobe/edit services.  Using the same font/colour size etc as the rest of the poster.  I have seen it done before but have no idea where to start!

Many thanks

You need to do text field for Adobe PDF forms

You will need to have Acrobat Pro for changing text fields properties.
