Question

Hyperlinks on Published online document directing to a wrong destination.

I have created an interactive PDF with InDesign and published it online. The file has around 20 hyperlinks on shapes to different InDesign files. I have tested it many times and they all work perfectly on Chrome or Safari.

However, when other people opens this file and click on some of the buttons, the destinations are wrong and they direct them to the wrong published online file.

I couldn't find any answer and this is driving nuts! Because it all works fine on my end, it's just on other people's computers that doesn't work fine so I'm not sure what's happening and how to solve it.

Hi Rocio,

Sorry to hear about this. As per your query, hyperlinks on a Publishing Online link are directing to the wrong destinations instead of the URLs assigned to them? If yes, I would request you to please share a few more details like:

  • Is it happening with all files or a particular file?
  • If with all files, would you mind sharing a sample file, published link and destination URL?

Regards,
Srishti

Are you using relative links?
