Snap to objects - seems to be turned off

Hello,

I have CS6.

After coming back from holidays it seems my snap to objects feature and the "green lines" are turned off (something I may have done somehow...who knows). That is when an object gets close to the line of another object it used to snap/click into place, instead of me having to manual line it up on super zoom-in.

Does anyone know how to turn it back on?

Also, I've never been able to snap to the margins, is this another feature I can turn on?

To get your green lines back ("smart guides"): Ctrl-U (or Cmd-U on a Mac)

To snap to the margins: View>Grids & Guides>Snap to Guides.

Thank you so much! Such a simple thing but I just couldn't figure it out. I probably pressed Ctrl-U by accident when trying to do something else.
