P: Cannot apply Vignette with some profiles

LEGEND ,
Oct 18, 2018 Oct 18, 2018

Sorry Adobe,

but until the release of the new profiles function you have got not solved the problem, that for some profile patterns it’s not possible to add a vignette. It's also still the same in the new major version.

The bug is shown when the amount of the vignette is 0. Select another profile, like Modern 03. Try to change the amount value for vignette.

A work around is to add a vignette with another working profile, change to the not working profile and change the value for the vignette. This is needed

When do you want to fix the bug?

Please try

- reset the develop settings

- select profile 'Modern 03' (with some others it's the same)

- try to change in the effects the amount value for Post-Crop Vignetting

Best thanks,

B

When you have the Modern 03 Creative Profile applied, the Post-Crop Vignetting doesn't work - you can move the sliders but it doesn't apply an effect to the image.

However, if you apply the vignette first then change the profile to Modern 03, it works.

I've reproduced this and reported it as a bug affecting LR8 but not ACR.

Actually my post crop vignette is not working at all no matter what profile im using. It was working previously but no longer. So now I have to use the radial filter to make a vignette which of course is not the same and has a different look than the PCV. please get this resolved ASAP.

Stephen, can you do a screen grab of your vignette panel? I’m just thinking that the panel switch might be switched off. It may not be but just thinking

10.1.1 Release Lightroom Classic.

When first processing a DNG file, if I initially apply a colour profile other that the standard Adobe Raw or Camera Matching, I am unable to apply a vignette in the Effects panel.
As a workaround, I can apply a standard profile such as Adobe Color, then apply the vignette, then apply (for instance) Modern 03. Only then can I see & modify the vignette with that particular profile.

There are several threads on this going back years and is still an issue.  I just checked Modern 03 in LrC 10.1.1 and is still broken.  Here is one thread example.  A search will find more.

BTW, if I start a Post Crop Vignette BEFORE I select Modern 03 then the PCV then works.

The post crop vignette does not apply when using the Modern 03 color profile (and possibly others). This seems to be the same issue noted back in 2018. It DOES work when you apply the vignette first, THEN the color profile.
