Not sure if this is the right place for a bug report, if not could anyone direct me to the right place please.

Clicking develop module at top right from the Library module opens the photo with film strip and both side bars black empty spaces. Initial few times I had to quit and restart Lightroom but then discovered switching to grid view again and develop keyboard short cut, everything comes back.

Thank you for your comment.  I have the latest software upgrade for Mac OS Sierra ver 10.12.4 and driver for the Intel Iris Graphics 6100 card but still a problem so I have followed your advice and unchecked the box for "Use Graphics Processor" which seems to have solved the problem.  I had not had this problem until the recent upgrades to LR.

What you are describing is a different issue. This issue is for the panels going black. Your issue is likely related to your graphics card driver or card itself.

Make sure your graphics card driver is up to date directly from the manufacturers website. If that doesn't fix it, uncheck "Use Graphics Processor" under Preferences > Performance. More details here: https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/lightroom-gpu-faq.html#troubleshooting

I finally rolled back to 2015.6. I needed to get back to being able to work. It feels good not to be interrupted all the time with the panels issue, and get some work done.

My laptop is new enough to update to Sierra, I will give it a try this weekend.

I just returned from 4 wks in Africa last PM where is was trying to use my laptop but the center panel blackout in the develop module plague me the whole time.  I had not upgraded to LR 2015.10 using OS Sierra 10.12.4 but using the prior LR upgrade and only use my laptop when traveling.  I just installed the 2015.10 and it's NO BETTER.  I still get the center panel blackout anytime I try to crop a picture.  This is really driving me nuts.  In Africa I was trying to edit pictures trying to look at the tiny little picture on the left panel since the center panel was black or constantly shutting down LR.  Not good with 7700 pictures to try to deal with.  What's the answer?

There are still issues with El Cap. Customers on Sierra are reporting the problem goes away.
