P: Truncated fields and font glitches in Metadata panel

The Metadata panel has some glitches in LR 10 / Mac OS 10.15.5 with the new fonts:

p1-9be6f5fc-9cc7-47f5-9e00-5ba8425c2522-1041768324.pngp1-9be6f5fc-9cc7-47f5-9e00-5ba8425c2522-1041768324.png
p2-048c092d-5508-423a-a937-cb8f1fe09e49-1040844803.pngp2-048c092d-5508-423a-a937-cb8f1fe09e49-1040844803.png

And some fields don't display their last line (off by one error?):

Untitled1-cb50f00d-968f-4f81-bb6f-9cd0e2cc508c-1210388217.pngUntitled1-cb50f00d-968f-4f81-bb6f-9cd0e2cc508c-1210388217.png

To reproduce this, try changing the width of the panel.

About the fonts in LR 10, the Lightroom Queen wrote: "[T]he font has been updated throughout the app, to use Adobe’s newly standards. While many formatting issues have already been identified and fixed, you might still find a few odd gremlins or spacing issues."

Here's another example, with a custom metadata tagset:

p3-ccd1e7da-5abd-4865-804a-a58897dac3d6-1039921282.pngp3-ccd1e7da-5abd-4865-804a-a58897dac3d6-1039921282.png
p4-3ebcd8ed-a9c8-4346-92ac-c68ae4bc86f5-1038997761.pngp4-3ebcd8ed-a9c8-4346-92ac-c68ae4bc86f5-1038997761.png
Here's the definition of that tagset:
return {title = "Any Vision",id = 'anyvision',items = {
     {"com.johnrellis.anyvision.labels", height_in_lines = -1},{"com.johnrellis.anyvision.landmarks", height_in_lines = -1},{"com.johnrellis.anyvision.locations", height_in_lines = -1},{"com.johnrellis.anyvision.map"},{"com.johnrellis.anyvision.logos", height_in_lines = -1},{"com.johnrellis.anyvision.faces", height_in_lines = -1},{"com.johnrellis.anyvision.text", height_in_lines = -1},{"com.johnrellis.anyvision.safeSearch", height_in_lines = -1},"com.johnrellis.anyvision.dominantColor","com.adobe.separator",{"com.adobe.caption", height_in_lines = -1},"com.adobe.GPS"}}

Yes it is only a display problem, the data is saved with the file and the file names can be made long, just it is hard to see what you have typed in.

I have exactly the same issue with MacOS Catalina, latest Lightroom Classic. It seems to be a long standing issue. Very disappointing that such a simple interface issue has not been resolved before now. All Adobe needs to do is make the code for Filename and Title fields the same as the code for the Description field, which behaves properly. This is not rocket science, just a lack of adequate task management by those in charge.

@steve_swayne The description field also behaves the same - it truncated the last line. So most of the fields truncate the last line, if not all.

Odd, as I do not experience problems with the Description field and I often have very long descriptions.

Are you using  Windows?  I think it is a Mac only issue.

As a palliative to the display bug (which is present on both Mac and Windows, though in different circumstances), you can make the left and right columns arbitrarily wide by holding down Opt while dragging the vertical column divider.  (On Windows, you need to make a small edit to TranslatedStrings.txt to enable this.)

Unfortunately, I still see the Title and Caption fields get truncated as I increase the width of the right column:

@Rikk I updated it to 10.2 but unfortunately, this update did not fix the issue at all. If you need screenshots or anything, let me know. I'm on Catalina 10.15.7.

@Rikk

Like @John_R_Ellis and @M_Ushioda, updating to 10.2 did not fix the issue with truncated Titles and Captions.

For me this bug is easily reproducible and fails 100% of the time.  But, to see the issue, it is necessary to enter a long Title or Caption, and then go to another image and come back again.  The field expands while one is typing, and stays expanded after hitting Return, as long as one stays on the same image.  As soon as one selects another image and then comes back to the original one, the fields are truncated.

Catalina 10.15.7, LR 10.2

@Rikk Just to be clear, you tried it and couldn't reproduce it? If so, that's strange, since a number of us have it happen 100% of the time...I wonder what makes the difference...

I just updated to Catalina 10.15.7 and am runing Lightroom Classic 10.2 and just started seeing this problem.  The last line of text in the caption box is cut off.  Also, in grid view, the title of a portrait thumbnail runs into the border of the box.

In grid view, titles of portrait-orientation photos run into the grid frame and are partially obscured.  See attached screen grab. Lightroom Classic 10.2. This only started when I upgraded to Catalina 10.15.7.

I'm seeing the same thing. Text boxes such as Title and Caption are sized too small and are cutting off the last line of text.  Only by clicking on a box and selecting the contents and forcibly scrolling the field down can the last line be viewed.  The attached screen grabs show a Caption with the last line cut off, and the same Caption but selected with the last line visible but still partially cut off.  Lightroom Classic 10.2.  This only started when I upgraded to Catalina 10.15.7.

Alas, the newly released version 10.3 does NOT fix this issue, at least not for me on a 27" iMac running Big Sur 11.3.1. For me, the behavior remains the same as it has been since LrC 10 was released.

Same. Version 10.3 DID NOT fix this issue at all on Catalina 10.15.7. I find the lack of response on this issue from Adobe is very disturbing.
