13.3 Update crashed lightroom, import issues, converting to dng issues.

I have installed the latest generative fill lightroom update 13.3 on my macbook pro m1 pro laptop. I have plenty of free space on my mac, the catalog is optimised, and lightroom was always running smoothly up untill 13.2. So the main problems after installing 13.3:

1. images are syncing to the cloud all the time. I know I have quite a lot of images in the lightroom cloud, I left my laptop for 2-3 days working all the time so that the images could get synced. (Anyway, I paused the syncing for the time being as there are other much more important issues).

2. importing takes forever to load the images. I use fast CF Express Cards with cf express card reader, with 13.2  import was smooth and fast. It took maybe half an hour to load 3000 images in the import window and then 4-5-6 hours to import, convert to dng and fetch the initial previews, which was normally done within half an hour or something or less.
3. converting to dng on import converted not all of the raws, other raws were not found by lightroom, other raws were not deleted after converting, a huge mess with the files.
4. somehow the cpu and the memory are not utilised (see screenshots).

I tried uninstalling lightroom, restarting, dont want to loose time reverting to 13.2 as 13.3 generated a new catalog. Has anyone else experienced such issues as well?

Correct answer alphaumi

The problem was with the catalog. The file became corrupted during the transition between 13.2 to 13.3. With any other catalog LR 13.3 and later are working perfetly fine. I have sent my catalog file to adobe for rapairs.

This has been the worst update I've ever experienced. My Lightroom classic lags so much that all my images got unsynced from the cloud. I might return to an older version if a fix isn't implemented soon.

I am also having issues with the new version 13.3 on an M1 max BBP 64gb 2tb... the list is numerous, images not cropping, masks not responding to adjustments, enhanced images are suddenly rendered on screen as absurdly noisy.  Stacks of  photos stacking and unstacking randomly. Images not displaying at all, just black... at this point, but a few mins ago I thought it is time to see what the word is on the street. I have been using adobe photoshop since version 1.1 ... I didn't know better I would have thought I had a very naughty virus not an update!

So it is a bag of nails, revert asap, only a day wasted.

I won't be doing that again in a hurry, I have a lot to do in a short time... how on earth did this alpha wear get realesed as finished?

Yes I agree, it is terrible. My pictures keep turning randomly black with neon dots all over 😭

I'm having a similar issue with my Macbook pro M1 pro. When i try to import a second card (after the first has completely finished) the "add to collection" dropdown doesn't do anything (normally it shows all my collections). And then when i try to import, it shows fewer than the number of photos selected to be imported and takes forever. Really hope they release an update soon 😞

So many issues with 13.3.

UI glitches (see screenshot below)

Sporadically delays for 30 second when rating a photo with star numbers

Sporadic long delays after Sync Settings...

That's just a few.

Yeah, i reverted to 13.2, lost 1-2 days in the process, but needed to edit and deliver thousands of photos. I will just wait for an update .

You managed to revert though?

" images are syncing to the cloud all the time. "

A number of people have reported that after the upgrade, LR continually reports a small number of photos syncing, even though new changes get synced promptly and correctly:

https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-discussions/lrc-13-3-sync-seems-stuck-13-photos-syncing-little-change-over-24-hours/m-p/14634960

For example, my catalog always reports "Syncing 1 photo". But sync works correctly otherwise.

If you're seeing the same thing (a constant small number of photos reported syncing but sync otherwise correctly working), please add your report to that thread. If you are seeing other symptoms, then they are not "the same problem".

Please do the LR menu command Help > System Info and copy/paste the entire contents here so we can see exactly which versions of hardware and software LR thinks you're running and important LR options that are set.

This version of Lightroom is certainly not fit for purpose in my use case.
