Add Color Label to Export

I want to export copies of some images back to the same folder with a different color label than the original. Is there a way to automatically add a color label to an export? Possibly with an export action of some type? I don't know how to write an export action.

Color labels only exist within the Lightroom catalog, and therefore can only be seen in Lightroom. They cannot be attached or made part of an exported image. The color label is an attribute for sorting or separating images within Lightroom, but it is not an attribute that is part of a standard file format.

I want the exported file to go back into Lightroom right next to the original - just with a different label. I want to find different versions of the same image for different purposes easily. So the export goes right back into Lightroom. It could be done with a virtual copy but I might need to work on the virtual copy in Photoshop and I don't think that's possible.

Well, I tell you one thing you cannot do. You cannot export an image with a color label. It's a Lightroom catalog feature, not an attribute of a standard file format. And apparently you haven't tried to edit a virtual copy in Photoshop. I just created a virtual copy, applied a color label, edited it in Photoshop, and it returned to Lightroom as a color labeled TIF file. Try it, it works.
