Artifacts when exporting images

Hi all.

About a month ago I processed a raw file as usual and went through my usual process, exporting as a JPG to an external drive and publishing a copy to my Flickr account. I noticed small rectangular blue boxes in both images that weren't in the LR file. I re-exported (no change) but on the 3rd attempt all was file.

Yesterday exactly the same thing happened with 2 blue rectangular boxes in the image. Since the last glitch, LR has updated to the latest version, so I'm confused as to what is going on.

Im on Win 7 and this is the latest shot below.

    This site shows several reports of the same issue. The 1st photo there is misleading, but all those below it show the issue I see.

    Right, that's the bug report in the official Adobe feedback forum. As you can see in that report, Adobe has acknowledged the problem and investigating.  If you click Me Too and Follow in the upper-right corner, that will make it a little more likely Adobe will prioritize a fix, and you'll be notified when the bug's status changes.

    I have the same problem. Nikon D850 LR version 8.0 (1193777). Happens when exporting JPG or TIF. Re-exporting and it will correct itself

    The last time it happened to me, I had to export another twice to resolve.

    I did notice however, that the update to LR last week mentioned removal of artifacts, so I hope it's gone now

    I believe i'm on the most recent version for windows

    Hi Robint,

    Sorry to hear about the artifacts issue on export, could you please let us know the camera model and the file format you're working with?

    Also, please check the exact Lightroom version installed on the system by going to Help > System info.

    Could you try exporting the file to a  local drive and let us know if it helps?

    I'm using a Canon 200D (CR2)

    I've also updated last week to LR v 8.0

    Saving to another drive won't assist as the issue can't be recreated. Once exported again it seems to cure itself automatically.... However the issue was present both on the exported file on the external drive AND when I used the Plugin to export to FLICKR via publish services (in other words that file was not reloaded via the hard drive)

    Someone else recently posted similar issues and I can't remember if it ever got resolved.

    Can you please post the original RAW or original DNG to a web sharing site like DropBox and let us know the link?


    Are these artifacts showing up on your JPEG in LR, or in the copy at FLICKR, or both?
