Since the update to 2024, Lightroom has not been behaving. The image on the right is after adjustments in Lightroom Classic 13.0.1. But when I export it, it comes out as the image on the right side -- crappy discolored shadows. I've opened the processed image in Photoshop, Finder, Preview, various web browsers, etc and it's the file. What am I doing wrong in Lightroom for it to output like this??
Thanks in advance.

Ok. I found a fix, but I need a fix to the fix.
In Develop mode, in the Calibration options, it allows use of different Process Versions. Apparently Version 6 and 5 makes the shadows crappy. 4 and below give good dark shadows. Problem is, choosing the Process Version isn't included in the settings Sync. Meaning I have to go to each and every image and choose Calibration Process Version 4. And that selection also doesn't stay with the image every time. I'll make the choice, move onto the next image. When I go back to an image that I already set to Process Version 4, it goes back to Process Version 6. Which is annoying and a waste of time. Anyone else come across this? Anyone have a solution?

Going back to an old process version is never a solution, because any edit you make in Lightroom will change the process version back to 6. I also doubt very much that using the latest process version would cause this. If using the default process version would do something like this, then this forum would be filled to the brim with the same problem as you have... Can you post a screenshot of your export dialog?

These are the same settings I've used for years. Since this problem arose, I've been poking around different preference and menu options to see if they make any difference. The only thing that gets the images to process correctly is to set it to an earlier process version.

Returning to process version 4 will most likely disable some edits you made with tools that were introduced in later process versions, like the new masking. Maybe that is a clue?

You may have an older Mac with a no-longer-supported graphics processor. To confirm (and before we merge this thread):
1. Please do the LR menu command Help > System Info and copy/paste the entire contents here so we can see exactly which versions of hardware and software LR thinks you're running and important LR options that are set.
2. Click the Apple icon in the upper-left corner and do About This Mac. Post a full-resolution screenshot (not a phone pic) of the About window.
