Defining default settings for sharpness and color noise reduction

For every picture when I start to post process the setting for sharpness is set at 40 and color noise reduction is at 25. How can knock both those values down to a default setting of zero so I don't have to go through this routine in every picture? I'm using a new plug in where if LR alters those settings it affects how this plug in is able to clean up the picture.

Take one undeveloped, just imported image (no sliders touched). Set the noise reduction to zero like you want. Hold the alt/option key. The reset button in Develop will turn into "Set Default...". Hit it and enjoy your new default which will apply to every newly imported image from this camera or when you hit reset on an image.

I just installed LR on a new computer and imported all the photos. If I hit "reset" in the develop panel it does not change the settings of any already imported photo to my defaults. Am I doing this right?

The Default Settings are only for newly imported images. Images that are already in the catalog have the Standard Default Settings Adobe selected for that make and model camera and or All cameras.

Take one already imported image and make the changes you want to be Default for all new imports from that ONE Camera (it is based on the serial number for that camera) and once you have them all set go to the Develop menu item then "Set Default Settings" option then in the dialog box that comes up select, Click, "Update to Current settings". For all of this to work you have to set the option in the LR Preferences, Preset Tab, Default Develop Settings section "Make Defaults specific to Camera serial number.

If you like you can also set it to apply only those setting based on an ISO setting. I leave that check box un-checked.

Once you have mad those changes on new imports those defaults will be applied.
