Question

Editing and exporting

I imported a photo from a folder to LrC, edited it and saved it back to the folder where it has maintained the edits and is a good photo.  However, going back to LrC the photo edits have changed and the photo is awful, can anyone shed any light on why it would change please?

You seem to have misunderstood or not yet fully adopted how LrC works.

Except for rare cases, it makes no sense to re-import edited and exported files. I also suggest not to store exports to the same folder as the original is living in - maybe a personal thing.

As Rob already said, there is no "Save" in LrC. Your work is always and immediately saved in the catalog. Exports are a rather temporary thing for exactly the purpose you need it and can be deleted afterwards ... however you like.

You can always re-export and automatically include the latest edits made.

Yes I agree I don't understand LrC and have reverted to LR.  LrC too complicated for me!

LrC does not 'Save' files.

All edits in LrC are stored in the Catalog (Library database).

You can 'Export' a copy that will embed the edits in the new file.

There is no reason why your preview of the original photo should change in the LrC Library. It will appear as it was last edited, with a History of all the edits you applied.

Perhaps, provide a more detailed explanation of your workflow, and some screen-clips, that might help get you an acceptable answer.

Thank you.  The photo did change after editing but let's agree to differ on that one!

Can you tell me what this means please?

It says it about all the photos I have in LrC

I can not read the message since the screen capture somehow can not be viewed in full screen.

Can you please write the message down and maybe try the screen capture again.
