Question

Extremely laggy brush adjustment (Classic)

Just upgraded and, as expected 😕😕 , massive lag issues with adjustment brushes.  Mask is off as well.  Just threw a bush stroke down and then went to adjust the sliders.  Super laggy.  Same with painting in the adjustments.   Ugh.

Without question Lightroom Classic is a complete disaster. It gets slower and slower the more you use it, and I am on MacBook Pro with plenty of CPU, RAM and SSD storage that always worked blazing fast in prior versions of LR!  Now it works like a snail making single picture edits taking 10 min or more.

Even after a remote session with Adobe support which they claimed creating a new catalog was the fix, within 15 min and a new catalog it started slowing down and worked to a snail crawl within 20 pics edited.   (and it took 25 mins to get to tech support)

WHAT A COMPLETE CUSTOMER DISSERVICE AND PRODUCT FAILURE, and Adobe has been completely silent. TRAPPED, DISGUSTED AND OBVIOUSLY FRUSTRATED!  I admit LR is the product of choice for me but if it is what it is now, I am going to begin looking elsewhere. It gets worse every day and to make matters worse keep getting email from Adobe advertising the new faster Lightroom Classic - yeah right. Next thing they will try to sell me an ocean property in the middle of Minnesota!  MAYBE A MODERATOR WILL FORWARD SOME OF THE MANY(Emphasis added) POSTS ON THIS FORM ABOUT LR CLASSIC SLOW DOWN to Adobe since they obviously don’t read the forum  and contacting tech support is a waste of time.

I have 20 days before my annual photoghrapy plan is set to renew, so some serious thinking is in the cards and I will be watching closely to see where this goes.  From what I have seen this past week since release of LR CC, I have a bad feeling it will go nowhere and I will be up a creek without a paddle.  Bigger, better, faster used to be the mantra, but right now it’s buggier, clearly not better, and far from faster as far as LR Classic is concerned. UGH

LR Classic might be making previews in the background.    This could cause a slowdown.

There is a new option, probably you are aware, that it will let you cull using the JPEG's embedded in the RAW images.   There is a check box which MIGHT be checked by default where LR Classic makes new previews in the background while you are doing other work.  It can turned off.

The same here I just had my Lightroom cc 2015 running (almost) fine, now LR classic is driving me up the walls .. SO SLUGGISH
I don't have a very powerful machine, but I hear the same problems from people having good gear .. (again)

Unfortunately, you've provide very little information on the type of edits he brush stroke was loaded with, which makes diagnosing the problem more difficult than it ideally would be.  For example, had you mentioned the edits and any other edits already applied to the image it would then be possible for others to try reproduce same. The actually values aren't necessary just the type of edit (e.g. exposure, clarity local or global, etc).  If you can provide a little more detail along these lines it would be most helpful. In meantime, if you've applied noise reduction locally or globally then try turning it off (dial the noise reduction back to zero) then recheck your brush.

Honestly Ian...I thought it was just a brush but it was actually across the board.  I had tons of issues with LR CC for a while with my machine (stats listed above) but never with my mbp.  Which means the common issue is how LR deals w the i5 vs i7 chip.  Honestly not sure what else to say but researching the switch over to C1 this week.

I agree, LR classic CC is as bad as always (lag). We cannot trust Adobe anymore. I think I´ve be waiting for a solution too long and I´ll give C1 one chance. Interesting debate topic on adobe forums "Lightroom Classic CC seems slower than previous Lightroom version it replaced"

Cant seem to edit the OP....however the lag issues are across the board.  Not just the adjustment brush.  Even more disappointing.

EDIT;  This is only occurring on my imac (not mbp).

Just a thought: Have you tried to deactivate the GPU support?
