Facebook:Something went wrong. We're working on getting it fixed as soon as we can! What next?

I run LR5 version 5.0.0.907681 on Windows 8 64-bit.  I setup a Facebook Connection under Publish Services and it authorized correctly.  The Plug-in Manager shows the Facebook.lrplugin to be enabled.  The Lightroom Publishing Manager shows the Facebook service to be "Authoring ..." but it never completes.

I then clicked the "Authorize on Facebook" button and followed the Facebook web page dialog to get authorized.  The following Oops message was then received from Facebook: "Something went wrong. We're working on getting it fixed as soon as we can."

Help!

Well, I managed to authorize with Facebook one more time.  It wasn't anything to do with cookies or my browser [IE 10] but I went into my profile at Facebook and under Apps deleted Adobe Lightroom.  That seemed to allow me to setup a new Facebook Authorization.  However, I then tried to publish [upload] a photo from LR5 and everything appeared to work well [no error indications] - although it would not "Show album in Facebook" .  I then switched to my browser and refreshed the Facebook page but there was no sign of my photo.  I don't know where it was uploaded to!  I'm now back to square one again.  When I restarted LR5 it was unable to authorise any connection with Facebook.  This area of LR5 seems to be very delicate ... I can't tell what the real problem is and nobody seems very concerned.  I conclude that either not many people want to Publish to Facebook or those that do are able to without any problems.  Very frustrating!  Oh well, I'll have to export my photos to hard drive and then upload them using the Facebook dialog - the long way. I for one would like to be able to post directly from LR5 to FB. So a solution would be more than welcome. I can't figure out why compagnies like Adobe and Facebook seem not able to ensure a solid connection between there software.

There appear to be a number of errors, both on Facebook's and Adobe's parts.  Facebook behaviour is inconsistent, authorisation behaves differently at different times and it appears that not everyone has this problem.

Lightroom sometimes produces incoherent error messages in the face of this unexpected behaviour, one of which I suspect is LUA's runtime error message for indexing a zero length array and the other tells me stuff that I just did does not exist, a message something like "there is no Facebook album associated with this collection" just after I have used a Lightroom dialog to define one.  The Facebook plugin can experience an internal error which is not reported to the user and which is only visible when the plugin manager is opened.  These are errors in Lightroom, they are more usability defects than functional defects, but they are still errors.

It may well be that there needs to be some change to Lightroom to align with API or UI changes that are being rolled out across Facebook users.

Is Adobe working on a fix?  What is its ETA?

    Hi,

I have exactly the same problem as drkjones. Seems to be a FB problem.

For the record ... I have been getting the same Oops message from Facebook for the last 3 days.

I also tried to create a second Facebook Publish Service via Lightroom Publishing Manager.  The dialog came up saying "Can't Use Plug-in "Facebook" and at the bottom of the page it says "The plug-in had an internal error."

This suggest to me that there is a problem within LR5 ... and possibly also in Facebook.  Help!

You may want to look at the other threads on FB problems, one is: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/976024?start=0&tstart=0

My guess is that Facebook is having troubles today (I know if was having trouble yesterday as well); perhaps you can wait a few hours and try again.
