Find missing photo not working

I used to be able to select a missing photo and find it (using the menu option if I recall correctly or clicking on the missing photo indicator).  Clicking on the missing photo indicator no longer works.  I tried the menu item "Find all missing photos" which brought up like 12K of photos.  Still nothing works trying to 'find' it so LR recognizes it.  I feel like Adobe is making changes to functions that worked in the past but don't work now.

Running LR Classic 13.2 on a PC

Lightroom Classic version: 13.2 [ 202402141005-bf1aeb84 ]
Operating system: Windows 11 - Home Premium Edition
Version: 11.0.22621
Built-in memory: 16169.4 MB

No, there has been no change from Adobe. What happens when you click on the missing file indicator? Is there any message or warning or error on the screen? If so, what are the exact words?

Nothing happens when I click on the indicator.

Is the indicator is an exclamation point surrounded by a square as shown in Figure 2 here?

Did you follow the instructions from @AxelMatt above?

In a first step try is to reset the preferences to the default settings.

Reset Procedure:

  • Close Lightroom.
  • Windows: Hold down [Alt]+[Shift] while restarting Lightroom.
Mac: Hold down [Opt]+[Shift] while restarting Lightroom.
  • Overwrite the Preferences when prompted by the dialog.
  • Close Lightroom.
  • Restart Lightroom.

It's recommended to backup your preferences before you reset the preferences to the default settings:

If this doesn't help, please provide a copy of your 'System Info'. This can be get from the LrC Help > System Info menu item. There's a copy button in the System Info dialog. Press this button and paste the info into your next forum post.
