Help with multiple duplicate keywords under two hirearchies

I have just imported another cataogue into my main catalogue in Lightroom.

This has created duplicate hirearchy keywords at different levels which I want to merge.

e.g. I have a person (a) at the top level and person (b) under people. I want to move all the keywords under (a) to (b) which is under people. However, there are many duplicate keywords in both (a) and (b) and some which are unique which I want to keep. There are a large number of both.

Is there a quick method to for example drag the (a) under people and get Lightroom to merger the duplicates and keep the originals?

I have this problem with several keywords and keyword hirearchies.

Unfortunately not. Lightroom cannot merge keywords, you'll have to do that manually. Suppose you want to merge keyword A into keyword B. You do this as follows: select all images with keyword A, assign keyword B to these images and then delete keyword A.

Thanks Johan,

I thought this might be the case. Oh well this is going to take a long while to fix.
