How to remove markers when editing masks

If I'm editing a photo in lightroom and I'm masking something its really annoying when you use the people mask as it generates so many sub masks (which is good), but ultimatley annoying as I do not know how to hide the markers.
So when I change shadows for example I can't see all of the face. See photo here for an example. I want to hide the marker points.

How can I do this?  I use the latest version on a Windows machine.

In the lower left corner below the image you can set the visibility of these markers. Choose 'Never'.

All answers are great, but I'm marking this one as the one.

Brilliant. Thanks.

Press H (toggles the  pins on and off), or move your mouse cursor off the image.
