Keyboard shortcuts triggered when entering keywords

Every now and then, more often than should happen (should never happen), when I am entering text into the keywords field, LR thinks I am trying to use a keyboard shortcut. Often times this invokes a feature I have no idea how to exit from. Is there any way to disable this "feature"? Alternatively, is there some generic keystroke I can use to undo a keystroke shortcut? This can be extremely aggravating.

Just now it happened when I was trying to add the keyword smilax. S was retained, but M wasn't so maybe it was either s or m that triggered the shortcut. The image I was working on displayed in the center of the screen with everything else dark. I quite LR to resolve the issue.

This is a known issue with MacOS 12. You do not give any information about the version of your OS, but I bet that's what you use. If you can upgrade MacOS, do so and the problem will be solved.

And just to be clear, what is meant by “upgrade” here is not just to a point update of macOS 12, but to a later major upgrade such as macOS 13 or 14.

I think that is what triggered it. Lightroom Classic 13.2 is not fully compatible with MacOS 12, previous versions probably did not have this issue.

Interesting - I had not idea it was a known issue. I'm using MacOS 12.6.3. I will be upgrading the OS soon because Apple now requires a later version of Xcode that I have installed by the end of April, and that requires an OS upgrade (I'm an iOS developer). Meanwhile, using the keyboard settings app, I remapped all the single alpha keystroke shortcuts available in the Library module to something else.
