Lightroom AI denoise not working on my new computer

Hello,

I purchased a new laptop ASUS Zen Book Pro 14 (RTX 4070) to replace my Dell XPS 15 9570 (GTX 1050Ti).

I'm facing an issue with my fresh installed Lightroom on my new computer --> AI denoise is not working "Denoise is not currently supported with this photo format"

It's very strange as it works on my XPS 15 with LR classic 13.1 with the exact same ARW file (not compressed) from my sony A7RIII.

My Nvidia drivers are up to date and GPU is enabled in LR preferences. I also tried to delete GPU config txt file in appdata / cameraraw / LRC but without effect.

Please help me on this issue, I mainly by this new laptop for the enhanced dGPU for faster experience on AI denoise.

Thanks in advance,

Florian

  1. Is that image one already in your catalog from when you used the older laptop, or a fresh new import of the same image that happened to still be in the cameras memory card?
  2. When importing, is/was that Copy, Copy as DNG, or Add? (before and now) (especially if this is a fresh import from camera)
  3. Before attempting the AI Denoise, did you accomplish anything that would convert that image to DNG?

Thanks for your reply.

1. Yes it doesn't work with image already on catalog. I tested with new catalog and importation and fonction works well.

2. For the importation on my older PC I use add.

3. No on the ARW file tested no modification as DNG before.

I'm currently creating a new catalog and import from the older to see if it solve the issue for my 20k pictures.

"Denoise is not currently supported with this photo format"

Triple-check that you're invoking Denoise on a raw and not a JPEG or other non-raw format. Many, many people have posted here thinking they're working with a raw when in fact they're not -- LR does its best to hide that from you, so it's an easy mistake.  Look at the File Name field in the Metadata panel:

or above the filmstrip:
