Exactly what do you mean by upload? Are you talking about the Lightroom Import function, or just copying image files to the Win 11 computer?

Do you have a new camera? If so, it's likely the files are not supported by the old Lr 6.1. If that's the case you can try the free Adobe DNG converter software.

  1. Were you running a later version of Lr 6 before? Does the message say something like "damaged or unsupported"?

Why are you uploading? If that means importing, you should not have to import the photos in your Lightroom catalog just because you have moved it to a new computer.

So the import (not upload) fails because the format of the file is unsupported. We need to know what camera you are using.

One bit of confusion, perhaps the Admin or Monitor moved your posting to the wrong community.

Is this about Lightroom Ecosystem (Cloud based) v6.1, or Lightroom Classic v12.1? Or perhaps old pre subscription  Lightroom perpetual (last version was v6.14)

This can be easily clarified. In Lightroom, click on Help, click on System Info, look at, and perhaps paste into a reply, the first 6 or so lines.

/followup/ Author states and in a screenshot shows Lr Perpetual, so in correct community.

Ok, Lr perpetual v6.14, so what camera?

And see:

https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html

/followup/ so Nikon D500, per above link you would need Lr perpetual v6.5. If you have v6.14, then it should work. (that is six point five vs six point fourteen)

please verify, in Lr, in /help/system info/ that it is 6.14

Follow the advice given by @GoldingD  and verify what version you are running, Help menu > About Lightroom.

If it's not version 6.14, download from here:

@Michael27843183v3pi  You said you had Lightroom v6.1 (SIX.ONE the 'old' Perpetual version) installed in your original post.

The D500 requires a minimum of  Lightroom v6.5 (SIX.FIVE) for compatibility.  (6.1 will not do! thus your error messages.)

You do not have to edit on your old computer.

Take the advice and upgrade to version 6.14   (SIX.FOURTEEN) from the link given by @Per Berntsen just abaove.

Regards. My System: Lightroom-Classic 14.0, Photoshop 26.0, ACR 17.0, Lightroom 8.0, Lr-iOS 9.0.1, Bridge 15.0.0, Windows-11.
