There is no longer any on-line activation for Lr 6. To do the move, you will need to follow these instructions https://www.lightroomqueen.com/how-move-lightroom-to-new-computer/ and then to install Lr 6 you will need to use the offline activation method https://community.adobe.com/t5/download-install-discussions/lightroom-6-on-a-new-pc/m-p/14638713#M580921
Adobe does not provide technical support for any issues regarding Lr 6.
To install Lr 6, use the offline activation method. https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-discussions/lightroom-6-sign-in-required/m-p/14822708#M376764

this is not working - i am not getting an option to start without internet. on starting lightroom (after succesful install) i get login required screen. my computer is offline - here i only can click retry or cancel. cancel just brings me one step back with only one option login.

i solved it:
<TLDR;>
Updating "Adobe Application Manager" to "Creative Cloud" helped.
the installation also install "Adobe Apllication Manager". This app is the app that requires the login and handles start of lightroom. If i start this alone (not through lightroom.exe) it tell me that iot needs an updtate to "creative cloud". First time i rejected - i don't need.
Today i allowed the update. After it it starts and asked for login again. But this time it works and tells me that i activated Lightroom on too many devices (in fact i installed on 2 but for 3 different users). I logged of on one device - now all is working again.

Yester day i already opened a question - can't be found anymore:
Lightroom 6.14 starts only with limited features - loging in does not work. Features keep limited and login is requested again again (always succesful) until account is locked.
The suggestion from yesterday was to try offline install - switch off internet.
Tried to reinstall from Lightroom_6_LS11.exe with offline computer can get around login until installation is finished (key was provided). After pressing start application i get "login reuired" can only press cancel or retry. - no option for no internet only a link to http://www.adobe.com/go/getactivated_de is provided.
pressing retry gets me again to this point. cancel just ends the program.
So how to install Lightroom_6_LS11.exe ?

As I have never used this method to install Lr 6, what I say next is a total guess, because I have never used this method and because my understanding of what you did is based upon the limited description you provide.
You said: "Tried to reinstall from Lightroom_6_LS11.exe with offline computer can get around login until installation is finished" but the instructions say "At the Serial Number Validation screen, click Having Trouble Connecting To The Internet." Seems to me what you are describing doesn't match the instructions. But maybe you did exactly what the instructions said, and I just don't see that in your description.

At the beginning of installation i had 2 options. Test or i already bought and have a key. if i chose the latter i get a screen to enter the key - no connection needed at this point. installation continues and finishes.
At the end i can chose to start application. Now Adobe Application Manager steps in and wants me to login - without any offline option as described.

The instructions don't say enter the serial number at that screen and continue, it says click on "At the Serial Number Validation screen, click Having Trouble Connecting To The Internet."

This option i don't have. i can choose test or already bought. after i get a scrren from old Adobe Apllication Manager to put in my number and only one button to confirm - installation continues smoothly to the end.
But as i wrote in my other question i solved it by updateing Adobe Application Manager to Crative Cloud app - the latter showed me the problem: too many activations. deactivating one fixed the problem.

My Lightroom V6 is showing via the help an option to sign out - this is showing an old email address which is no longer valid - I did try signing into Adobe with this old email address but it did not reconise it.
My concern if I do sign out from Lightroom V6, when I then try installing Lightroom v6 from my original purchased CD & licence key onto my new PC (windows 11), I would not be able to load Lightroom V6 since I cannot sign into Adobe which is a requirement to install Lightroom.
I have created a new Adobe signon with my current email address, but I presume Adobe system would link the licence key against the old email address and would expect the old email address to be linked back during the install process on my new PC.
I did reach out to the Adobe support agent who advised Lightroom can be transferred to another PC as a one-off even though product is EOL. But then directed me to the forum without any further assistance.

I have never had the need to re-install Lr v6.14, but here is what I have learnt in the forums-
Adobe will offer no help for 'End of Life' Lr6,
Activation servers at Adobe have been closed for online activation so activation offline is now the only known possible way. @ LIGHTROOM 6 -OFFLINE ACTIVATION
Note: The presence of the Adobe Creative Cloud App converts v6.14 to a subscription version CC2015 (with only 30 days of use). Do not install CC Desktop app if you want to continue with v6.
And you may only be able to download v6.14 from the Interneet Archive Wayback site- Lr6.14 Wayback Machine
With new operating systems that are not guaranteed to work with v6 you would be better to subscribe to either the Lightroom Plan or the Photography Plan for v14, - far advanced on v6 with many new features.

Rob,
Thank you so much for your response and the time taken out of your day. I was able to install the Lightroom 6 onto my new Windows 11 PC and it's now activated. I did try accessing a few images within Lightroom 6 and it appears to work.

I have a hard-copy disk of Lightroom 6 with serial number. I have installed it only once in the past on one computer. That computer recently died and so I tried to reinsall it on my new computer. No problems until registration. As you know, it asks you immediately to login with your Adobe ID on their website and that will automatically open your software. Well, I did that, except it sends me on an endless loop of registration. I login with my Adobe ID, it tells me it is successful (it is a window only for registration, there are no other links on the page). It tells me it is OK to close the page now that I have registered my product. A window appears on my desktop with the EULA, laws and rules of Adobe. I naturally click "accept." The window disappears. I then try to open Lightroom 6 and the same window appears again, asking me to login.
In comparison, I have Photoshop CS 5. Yep, absolute dinosaur, but it works for what I need.! Ha! I have installed it multiple times on different computers, and have never encountered this problem. I just reinstalled it on my new computer and it works fine. Lightroom 6 does not, it sends me on an endless loop. The serial number that comes with the disk should have been enough to allow me to use the software, but i have to login with my Adobe ID. Obvioulsy, I have one, otherwise I wouldn't be here.
So...any solutions. I tried talking to a tech, but they do not offer support for legacy programs like Lightroom 6. Everything is on the cloud now. I get that, but my software disk should have no problems installing. I have thought about uninstalling it and trying again, which is something I just might do. Maybe there was some glitch, but i'm asking if anyone else has had this problem and if they were able to fix it.
Thank you for your time.

Hello @madison_4552
Use the "offline activation procedure". https://community.adobe.com/t5/download-install-discussions/lightroom-6-on-a-new-pc/m-p/14638713#M58...

Many years ago I purchased Lightroom and continued using it for many years. Some time ago I found that I was unable to launch it and registered a subscription to the Adobe whateveritscalled suite. I cancelled this subscription as I could not justify the expense as a pensioner. Having PAID for Lightroom I would like to be able to use it occasionally. How do I get back to using what I paid for and used successfully for years?

Win 10 but may use on Win11.

Many old versions of Lightroom (pre-Classic) can be installed on Windows 10 and Windows 11. Some features may not work. What version of Lightroom were you using?

Which version of Lightroom did you buy many years ago? Is it still installed?
Windows (at least version 10) can usually run quite old software.
If it doesn't launch, it's probably not caused by incompatibility with Windows.
What exactly happens when you try to launch it? Any error messages?

I have the CD version. its called: Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 6 on the box.
I bought it right when Adobe was trying to make everyone move to the subscription lightroom CC. I had no interst in the subscription model Adobe was pushing.
I was runing it for a long time on my old lap top running win 7. It worked, slow as molasses, but it worked.
I just had to upgrade to new laptop becasue the battery charging ciruit on my old one finally died.
This is my experiance reinstalling and authenicating it:
Using the procedure described here:
https://community.adobe.com/t5/download-install-discussions/lightroom-6-on-a-new-pc/td-p/14638162
I just replaced my old windows laptop that I was running the cd based (pre creative cloud) version CD called: Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 6.
Intially after reinstalling it kept asking me to login to Adobe when I launched it. That process didn't work. I could log into my account but it didn't see my software under apps.
I did find solution in a post here that did work for me. After installing from the original Adobe CD.
Basically I had to:
1) Retrieve the software SN. I was promted with a link to do that, then.
2) Shutdown lightroom
3) Disconnect my computers internet connection.
4) restart Lightroom win no internet
5) when it asked to authenticate tell it I don't have internet access.
6) It then gave me long string to use when I had internet access and a web address to go to once I did.
7) then I renabled my internet
8) opened the link they provided in step 6
9) Then I entered the long string the gave me in step 6 and my software serial number
Then the authtentication completed and lightroom open as normal after.
Note: Copy and paste the sn and the other code they give you. Typing it doesn't always work I'm not sure why....
Yes its a jump through the hoops backward as ass solution but I was able to use it to reauthenticate my new install.
The OP said you may need to repeat few times to get it to work, mine worked on the first try. I did need to cut and paste the auth code and sn
quick shout out to ASUS, my new ASUS TUF A 15 gaming laptop is so much faster running LR. I did opt for one with a Ryzen 7 CPU, 32G of ram and an invida 3050 GPU, what an improvment LR boots in under 20 second now...

Just to add, to get my software serial number the insert that came with the install CD said go to:
www.adobe.com/go/getserial
Then enter the redeption code from the insert provided in the box along with the install cd.

Suggestion: make a computer file with the serial number in it, save that computer file in "the cloud" (like Dropbox or similar) as well as on your computer, so you don't ever have to worry about losing that serial number, and you don't have to worry about www.adobe.com/go/getserial being de-commisioned.
Do this for ALL of your serial numbers, not just for Lightroom Classic.

Hi, I have problems with the Adobe Lightroom login. I log in responsively, enter the 6-digit identification number I received by email and receive a confirmation message. After accepting the software license agreement, the window closes. When I then restart Lightroom, the whole thing starts all over again. See attached picture gallery.

Do you try to activate LR 6? If yes you must use the offline activation by 'kglad' in below linked thread
