There is no longer any on-line activation for Lr 6. To do the move, you will need to follow these instructions https://www.lightroomqueen.com/how-move-lightroom-to-new-computer/ and then to install Lr 6 you will need to use the offline activation method https://community.adobe.com/t5/download-install-discussions/lightroom-6-on-a-new-pc/m-p/14638713#M580921

Dear Adobe Team,
On November 6th 2012, as forwarded, I purchased Lightroom 4 and used it happily. Since then, I paid for the upgrades to Literoom 5 and recently signed up for Lightroom Classic. My wife is the photographer and she has the Classic standard package and it is loaded on her Desktop and her portable NUC computer. I wanted to load the older version on my notebook, but when I registered the password below, it replied that this is not a valid registration number.
How can I use this paid package?
My wifes registered Classic is on her email, <email redacted>. You will see that the payments are to my credit card, Daniel Price
Regards
Daniel Price.

Have you read the correct answers by @dj_paige given at the top of this forum thread?

Unable to deactivate in Adobe account.

Activation / Deactivation servers at Adobe are closed and not available for anyone (staff included)..

Chatbot blocks the way to the agent.

Support for Lr6 finished long ago. Chat with support cannot be of help.

Offline activation failed.

Try again. The only method that was known to work is mentioned in the correct answers.

Serial number is of course available.

And you would need a SNs for Lr5 Lr4 etc, if Lr6 was an upgrade.

Login for activation makes no difference.

Activation is not possible online.

I ask for a reset of the activation counters by a moderator or employee.

Employees and forum participants cannot be of help.

It is a sorry state for users trying to re-install legacy Lr6, but, If the 'offline' method does not work for you then you will need to investigate other software options, or subscribe to the 'Lightroom Plan' for current version (14.5.1) of Lightroom-Classic.

Regards. My System: Windows-11, Lightroom-Classic 15.0, Photoshop 27.0, ACR 18.0, Lightroom 9.0, Lr-iOS 10.4.0, Bridge 16.0 .

I was a user of Lightroom Classic, but I dropped my subscription. Now I want to go back to LR 6.0/6.14 after upgrading my SSD and reinstalling everything but I am having issues.

I have still the original CD of Lightroom 5.0 and managed to install it apparently without problems.

But when I run the installer for Lightroom 6.0, it asks for the disk, which I do not have. I purchased the upgrade from 5.0 to 6.0 directly at Adobe and have a digital download only, properly registered in my account.

For some reason, the installer I have does insists in asking for the 6.0 disk, which it did not in the past. I could create a ISO file or even burn a CD with the files, but I do not know the correct file structure (sub folders?) or label it may have used.

Has somebody the ISO and could share a screenshot or knows a workaround?

Thank you.

Thank you. I downloaded the 6.14 installer from the archive and was able to complete the install without being asked for the CD. From there on, everything worked as expected... after signing in, the software appears to be working. Again, thanks for the hint.

- Le programme d'installation officiel affiche le message : « This installer is no longer available »

-

Hello, I purchased a Lightroom 6 disc 9 years ago.  My laptop I had been using it on is no longer working or able to turn on even.  I tried downloading it on a new laptop.  The downloading process went fine.  I clicked on the icon and it made me sign into adobe.  Then it had me accept the license agreement.  After that it just disappears and makes me do the entire process over again and never actually opens Lightroom.  Does anyone know what I need to do in order to make Lightroom open?

@rachelle_9846 For activation of LR6 you have to use the offline activation method. https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-discussions/lightroom-6-sign-in-required/m-p/148227...

But be aware: if you have reached your activation limit and you don't have any chance to deactivate an older installation you're out of luck. Adobe has stopped the support of Lightroom 6 and the resetting of the activation counter isn't possible anymore.

Hi everyone.

I bought LR 6 in 2017 as a stand-alone license and it worked GREAT.  Recently, I was attacked with malware and had to scrub my C drive to remove it.  I have the license/product key but Adobe tells me it is no longer supported.  I can't afford to do LR subscriptions because I use it so infrequently now that my business is shut down.  I called support and he directed me to the community for help.

How can I get my product downloaded back onto my computer regardless of lack of support?  I have a registered product (LR 6).  Thank you.

Downloads for perpetual licenses haven't been available for a very long time. Can't remember the exact year for Lightroom, but it must be at least 6 or 7 years ago, probably more. It is now called Lightroom Classic and is subscription only.

By @Rich_Smith7629

Unfortunately, at this point in time they consider that application version beyond end-of-life, in that it’s no longer available or supported. The last perpetually licensed major version was originally released a decade ago.

In addition, if you support macOS users, even if the last perpetually licensed Lightroom version could be downloaded, it could not be installed on any versions of macOS that Apple currently supports, because of architectural changes to macOS that Apple made several years ago.

SSD-Platte einrichten. Wird mein Aktivierungscode von L6.14 angenommen und freigeschaltet? Zur

Zeit Windows 10 ESU. Danke für eine Antwort.

By @christian_3686

However, the prerequisite is that your activations are not exhausted. Usually, you have two activations with LR 6. Since your SSD is defective, you no longer have a chance to deactivate LR. If you have already reinstalled LR without deactivating the old installation, you will now be out of luck because your activations are used up. There is also no way to reset the counter on the part of Adobe.

The offline activation avoids this problem entirely. There is no such thins as "too many" activations now.

As far as I can tell, that not correct.

There IS a counter for too many offline activations as well. I'm facing it right now. I posted about it there: https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-discussions/p-information-regarding-lightroom-6-x-p...

Apparently, there's no way to 'deactivate' an offline activation. to try to deactivate there: https://community.adobe.com/t5/download-install-discussions/lightroom-6-activation-reset-download-re...

I have Lightroom 6.14 (I believe the last perpetual license version) on a PC, installed when it was running Windows 10. I did an in place upgrade to Windows 11, and LR is working fine on this new OS.

I also have a laptop, which has just had a clean install of Windows 11, so I installed LR 6.14, and entered the serial number. When I run the app I get a Window saying "Sign In Required".

That brings up a window with a QR code and a URL (e.g. https://to.adobe.com/...). I go to the URL and enter the email address of my Adobe account.

I'm asked to verify my identity via a code emailed to me. I enter that code. I then enter my password and I get a window saying I'm signed in and I can close the browser window.

The Lightroom application now brings up the license agreement, which I accept, the window closes... and nothing happens.

If I try to run the LR app again I get the same request to sign in; so I'm stuck in a loop that won't let me start the app.

I ran the steps listed in this thread (https://community.adobe.com/t5/download-install-discussions/my-account-quot-reverts-quot-back-to-tri...and that's allowed me to start LR as a trial.

If I attempt to sign in via the Help menu from the app it appears to work (the same set of browser window steps), but at the end, the Help menu still has a Sign In option; so I obviously haven't signed in and I assume it'll expire in 30 days.

How can I get LR 6.14 registered correctly?
